About David
The whole of my work life, nearly five decades, has been focused on engineering - hardware, software, and documentation. Being the subject matter expert in developing hundreds of new products and processes has been an incredible journey. All of it required having the courage to think differently and make the choices that would benefit each customer and their people. Without a doubt, it is a testament to the fact that I love what I do.

Interestingly, the focus on being and doing different also expanded my skills and capabilities in that, while my first degree was Electronics Engineering, most of my career was Controls, Automation, Robotics, and Electrical Engineering interspersed with quite a bit of Mechanical, Industrial (system/facility layouts), and Applications (the quote process). To round that out, add management in the form of Maintenance Supervisor, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Division Manager, to name a few.

Industries include automotive (powertrain, conveying, assembly, stamping, painting, paint mix/distribution, extrusion, material handling, robotics, welding, testing, etc.), aerospace, military, food, web printing and coating processes, x-ray (i.e., NDT = Non-Destructive Testing), and ever so much more.

A rather light-hearted perspective of the above would be: been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

Yet, all the above doesn't compare to having mentored, tutored, trained, and otherwise worked with hundreds of people from all walks of life. Taking the time to talk with them, walk in their shoes, and then help them achieve their best is, in and of itself, a truly great reward. Helping them maximize who they are, their efforts, skills, capabilities, as well as their rewards . . . what a great way to live and get the most from life. All the more reason to love what I do.
It would be a great honor to work with you. Together, we can make different and better choices to get your best results.

I have three favorite quotes that also say a lot about me:
Talent hits a target no one else can hit;
Genius hits a target no one else can see.
- Arthur Schopenhaur, born 1788

It takes a genius to see the obvious.
- Albert Einstein

Engineering an automation system isn’t simple. To do so, you have your work cut out for you . . . it isn’t simple. Our job as
engineers is to take what’s possible, complicated, or even difficult and make it real to a few, then available to many, and
then easy for the masses. It’s our job to ultimately make everything . . . simple.
- David Fischhaber, 2019
